Nebodama ........Brain overflow......... A crafty blog
Some assembly required....... As always there are too many projects in conception and creation; the brain overflows, and the hands just don't work quickly enough. And then..........the alpacas.....take up my time too.

Sometimes I wonder why we bother? Over the past few days while I've been sitting here at the computer I've looked out at my grape vines and thought - "they look lovely - lots and lots of grapes; healthy, pest free", and the ripe ones are very sweet.
Yesterday I noticed a couple of rainbow lorikeets sitting on the fence, and they then decided to try the grapes. Out I go to the shed to get a heavy net (tried those nylon filament ones in the past and the birds get stuck in them - so it's the heavy ones now-a-days). Net over vines.
This morning, the word has gotten around........"Good grapes at Marg's place". There's about 20 birds feasting on my grapes - from above the nets and under them. Shoo.........
Most of the birds can get away from under the net. One fellow decides that it's not so easy. I go out to make sure it's liberated.....so do the dogs of course. Well...........maybe it was drunk, maybe it was dazed, maybe it was a bit shell shocked, but it couldn't fly so good, and after both the dogs have given it a kiss ( they'd never want to kill it.....would they????) and me screaming at the top of my lungs "no! no! no!" to Max who really thought it needed the kiss of ?life? I decided...."poor thing needs to be looked after until it can fly all better again."
Why did I bother? I now have 37 holes in my fingers and the tender part between thumb and finger, the bird is in a recovery cage in the shed, and I've just about lost the use of my fingers and hand. The grapes have been totally demolished. I'm in pain. The garden is mushy and muddy because of the rain, the floor is filthy because I have to go in the garden and then the mud gets trodden in here..... ooooooooo give me a cuddle!!! - or a bullet!
Amazingly the bird is fine, I only have 4 sore spots on my hands, the grass has grown so well, the mud has gone before I get back inside, and it's still raining, which we really want.
And...........the shed floor is dry! Don't you just love a good ending!
